Rockin’ 101 Class For Your Child!
Does your child love music, dance, and to sing? If so, Ed Littman a musician and music educator for over 30 years with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music has the right program, atmosphere and setting to nurture your child’s interest.
Littman Guitar Studio’s Rockin’ 101 class is a Music program designed for kids between the ages of 6-9 years old focusing on past & present rock styles. The recommended class size is 3 to 5 students. Keeping the class size small allows for more personal attention and consistency needed to be part of a “Band”. In addition to playing instruments the skills that will be learned to accomplish this include sharing, listening, following direction, respecting others, and having FUN!
The Rockin’ 101 class allows the student to experiment & find their interest with a variety of instruments such as Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Drums, Percussion, and Voice.
The real benefit is that the focus is on the same students each session and that they play all the way through the session time (with small breaks ).Use of well known rock, pop, and children songs can also be used & will be re-arranged so the student can feel like a rock star! In addition to that, the students may be exposed to learning song writing and improvising, or the session can just be about letting go and expressing themselves.
All sessions will be recorded. Any recording that is of interest will be emailed to the proud parents. The sessions will be located in North Haledon NJ , 2hrs in length and held on a weekly basis. The cost for each session Is $40 per student paid in monthly intervals, and as a recommended option, an additional private lesson at $30 per 1/2hr or $50 per hr for your child’s chosen instrument are also offered.

Thank you for your interest in pursuing guitar lessons. I truly enjoy teaching guitar as well as all aspects of performing and composing music. I believe that learning to play the guitar or bass should be fun and rewarding, and I have developed an exciting, multi-faceted approach to teaching.
For beginners, my goal is to teach you to play music as soon as possible. I stress the fundamentals; holding the guitar, tuning, understanding the parts of the guitar and not feeling intimidated or overwhelmed. I will help you work on practice habits, technique and the three more important elements for playing all styles of music.
Being the Bassist in a band may not be as glamorous as Lead Guitar but if you would like to contribute to an essential function of a rhythm section and feel important with your band members & other musicians Bass could be the instrument for you. With the same tuning as the low 4 strings of a Guitar it’s no wonder so many guitarist have easily switched over when in a pinch for a dedicated bassist in a band.
While playing or learning Bass the focus is in developing tone, time, feel, & locking in with your Drummer. When there is no Drummer the Bassist should be able to apply nuances in the touch & feel so that the lack of the Drummer is not as noticed. There are a variety of simple techniques & concepts that can be applied by even a beginner that will give the illusion that the student has played/studied for a longer period then they actually have.
